Drawn into the classic car world by discovering his grandfather’s Lotus Elite lying dormant in his garage (a car which he is currently restoring), Cyrus began working for an E-Type specialist when he was 14 years old. Later working for a private collector where everything was restored and maintained in-house, his passion for classic cars and motorbikes only grew stronger. At the age of 15 Cyrus began visiting autojumbles and started dealing in automobilia and classic car parts, something which he still does to this day. His first car was a 1974 Mini Clubman Estate that his grandmother bought new, and he has attended various rallies and meetings in the Southeast of England. After studying History at The University of York, Cyrus continued to aid in the restoration of various cars in the care of a private collector and began the frame-off restoration of his late grandfather’s Lotus Elite during the 2020 pandemic.
Joining RM Sotheby’s in June 2021 as a catalogue writer, Cyrus has only furthered his knowledge and experience through the research and inspection of various cars and collections across the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. In the fall of 2023, he joined the Specialist team and is based out of the RM Sotheby’s London office in Richmond.
Particularly fond of anything Lotus or Mini-based, Cyrus is fascinated by pre and early post-war competition cars, enjoying the process of researching their history so the full story can be told. He also takes great interest in pre-war BMWs and the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL range. A true petrolhead, Cyrus is always available for an impartial conversation about your classic car or collectible pieces of automobilia.
