Annette has had a lifelong passion for all things automotive, which included a student placement with Mercedes-Benz in Stuttgart. Her career then developed into an engineering business, which took her from working on tools to owning the business and running it highly successfully as Managing Director. By 2004, Annette was able to diversify her professional career into the world of collector car sales and brokerage, which saw her spend time with a well-known German dealer before beginning her first stint with RM Sotheby’s (then RM Auctions) when the company first launched its European operation in 2006. Initially based out of London, Annette was a crucial team member in establishing the business across multiple European markets before eventually moving back to her native Germany to manage the company’s German operations. Fluent in several languages, Annette brought her passionate enthusiasm and knowledge for cars and the market to the role, consigning numerous important motor cars to auctions on both sides of the Atlantic. After a few years away from RM Sotheby’s working as an independent broker and advisor, Annette returned to the business in 2022 and has re-established herself as a Senior Car Specialist based in Florida. A familiar face within the scene, she has been a member of the selecting committee of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este in Cernobbio, Italy, since 2016, as well as being a regular and committed competitor in rallies and events across the globe. Annette is fortunate to have owned some wonderful cars, including a Mercedes 300 SL Roadster, Ferrari Dino GTS, Jaguar E-Type, Invicta S-Type, Lamborghini 400 GT, and others. More than anything, Annette believes that her cars should be driven, having undertaken numerous events such as the Mille Miglia and many long-distance rallies in countries as varied as Thailand, New Zealand, China, and Georgia.
