  • Remarkable specification of Ruby Red Metallic with body-colour painted wheels
  • Fewer than 48,500 km from new; last serviced in 2023
  • At the time the most powerful, fastest roadgoing 911 version ever sold to the public

Introduced for the 2008 model year, the 997-generation 911 GT2 was at the time the most powerful Porsche 911 the world had ever seen, offering 530 horsepower, 50 hp more than the 997-generation 911 Turbo upon which it was based. The sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h could be achieved in less than four seconds, leading onwards to a top speed of 200 mph. These performance credentials meant that the 997 GT2 was, at the time of its introduction, the fastest street-legal 911 ever produced.

Completed in March 2008, this particular example was built to GCC specifications and imported to Dubai in 2011, where it resides today. It was finished in Ruby Red Metallic, one of seven special exterior colours offered on the 997-generation GT2; the car’s exterior colour plays a central theme in its configuration, as it also sports colour-matched wheels, painted sill covers, painted centre console, painted seat backrests on the optional adaptive sport seats, and seatbelts and instrument dials in Guards Red. Other options include the Sport Chrono package, cruise control, Homelink garage door opener, Bose sound system, and PCM satellite navigation.

The GT2’s service book shows that it has been regularly serviced by AR Motors in Dubai with its second owner from 2010 to 2021. Acquired by the current owner in 2022, its last minor service was carried out by AR Motors in July of 2023 at 43,689 km. Full PPF was applied in 2022, and prior to this, the car’s front bumper and bonnet were repainted. Importantly, the clutch was replaced at 31,550 km in 2016.

Over fifteen years since the 997 GT2 was introduced, these cars remain highly desirable and more than capable of keeping up with supercars produced today. They provide truly astonishing performance within the highly capable and usable 997 platform and could easily be used on a daily basis. Finished in one of the model’s lesser-seen exterior colours, this example is ready to be driven and enjoyed as Porsche intended.
