INDIANAPOLIS (March 13, 2013) – Klipsch, the world’s leading global speaker manufacturer, in collaboration with Klipsch Music Center, a Live Nation Entertainment venue, and Auctions America, announces today the upcoming auction of the brand’s custom-made Orange County Chopper motorcycle featuring signatures from the world’s most famous recording artists. Debuting at Auction America’s Auburn Spring event, May 9-11, the motorcycle will be sold to the highest bidder with all funds benefitting Make-A-Wish® to help grant wishes to Indiana-native children.
“While no stranger to charity, this endeavor is by far the most exciting and rewarding experience we have ever conceived as a company” said Paul Jacobs, CEO of Klipsch. “With the help of our valued partners at Live Nation and Auctions America, we are honored and humbled to impact the lives of deserving Indiana children, while also sharing our passion for live music with the custom collector community.”
“Klipsch is a great partner and we are thrilled to be involved in this one-of-a-kind opportunity to help raise money and awareness for an amazing organization,” said Kelly Ford, Senior Director of Sponsorship Sales for Live Nation – Midwest Music.
Donnie Gould, President, Auctions America added, “We’re delighted to be partnering with Klipsch and Live Nation for this exciting fundraising initiative, and are proud to lend our auction services to support Make-A-Wish and help grant wishes to children battling life-threatening medical conditions in Indiana. Not only does the auction provide a wonderful opportunity for enthusiasts to acquire a one-of-a-kind collector’s item, but to also support a great organization to deliver hope, strength and joy to local children when they need it most.”
“We are truly grateful for the generosity of Klipsch and their dedication to our mission,” said Make-A-Wish® Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana Corporate Campaigns Manager Amy Nelson. “Funds raised from the auction of the Orange County Chopper motorcycle will help bring the magic of a wish come true to local children battling life-threatening medical conditions.”
Auctions America’s Auburn Spring event returns to the historic Auburn Auction Park in Auburn, Ind. on May 9-11. A spring tradition for global collectors and enthusiasts, the annual event combines a multi-day auction, swap meet and car corral to make for a wonderful celebration of all things automotive. The custom-made motorcycle will be available for preview at the Auburn Auction Park from Wednesday, May 8 through Friday, May 10 ahead of its sale on Saturday, May 11.
Upon becoming the name-in-title sponsor of Indiana’s Klipsch Music Center, Klipsch unveiled plans to extend its fundraising efforts with Make-A-Wish. After housing the branded Orange County Chopper—equipped with Klipsch speakers—onsite at the amphitheater over the course of the 2012 concert season, the motorcycle now features more than 50 signatures from artists including Dave Matthews Band, Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum, KISS, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Bush, Jimmy Buffett, Jason Mraz, Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean and Brad Paisley to name a few. Over the years, Klipsch has worked closely with Make-A-Wish in Indiana to grant wishes to children who have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
