BLENHEIM, Ontario (29 May 2020) – Today, RM Sotheby’s completed the second and final day of lot closures for its first-ever car auction specifically curated by its team of specialists for the Online Only platform; Driving into Summer. 126 lots closed on Friday and sales were led by a spectacular, as-new 2003 Ferrari Enzo, which achieved $2,640,000 to become the most valuable car sold in a dedicated online only collector car auction to date.

One of a mere 400 units built, chassis no. 133033 was offered at auction from just two California-based owners, having resided within its first owner’s collection until 2018. The hypercar packs an impressive amount of power thanks to its purpose-built, 651-hp, Tipo F140B V-12 engine, able to rocket to 60-mph from standstill in just 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 218-mph. Regularly serviced and used sparingly, 133033 goes to its next caretaker in as-new condition, showing just 1,250 original miles. Optioned with the very rare two-tone racing seats with red 3D cloth inserts, it is a very attractive and fantastic Enzo in every regard.

Additionally, the Friday sale session saw strong results with the rare, race-bred 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, which sold for $2,310,000. An exhilarating example of Ferrari’s first supercar, the 288 GTO was originally delivered to well-known Ferrari collector Hartmut Ibing and changed hands just twice before joining the Online Only: Driving into Summer auction. Optioned with factory air conditioning and power windows, the thrilling Ferrari enjoyed 23,555 km on the road and goes to its new home ready to be driven.

The Thursday sale session was highlighted by exceptional results for both modern supercars and classic grand tourers, including a race-bred 2017 Ford GT in Triple Yellow with Lightning Blue stripes, which achieved a final $836,000; a beautifully restored, matching-numbers, one-of-50 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupe with rare coachwork by Ellena, which sold for $671,000; and an essentially new 2020 Ferrari 488 Pista Spider, stunningly specified, highly optioned and showing less than 90 miles at $605,000.

An official press release will follow, and complete results from RM Sotheby’s Online Only: Driving into Summer auction will be made available at rmsothebys.com. Results are listed in USD and include buyer’s premium.
