A seldom selected option, buyers of Porsche’s new 911 Speedster could opt to outfit their new cars in 'narrow-body' configuration, discarding the flared wings most commonly associated with the speedster for the more subtle rear haunches of the standard 911. For the 1989 model year, only 171 Speedsters were built to this specification, comprising just 8 percent of production.

First registered for the road in September of 1989 before being sold to Italy where it resides today, the car spent a significant portion of its life in Japan. Showing just 77,000 kilometres on its odometer, which is believed to be original, the car is accompanied by manuals in Japanese and English, as well as a proper set of tools. According to an appraisal done in 2015 that accompanies the car, it was repainted at least once in its original shade of silver.

The G-series 911s have proven to be some of the most robust and reliable models built in the car’s five-decade history, and the speedsters remain as one of the most desirable variants. This rare, narrow-body Speedster is presented exceptionally well throughout and would be the ideal modern classic Porsche to drive and enjoy this summer.

Immatricolata per la prima volta nel Settembre del 1989, prima di essere venduta in Italia dove risiede ancora oggi, la macchina ha trascorso una parte significativa della sua vita in Giappone. Sono solo 77 mila i chilometri indicati sul contachilometri, un valore che si ritiene essere originale, e, la vettura è accompagnata dai libretti uso e manutenzione in giapponese ed in inglese, così come dal suo kit attrezzi. Secondo una perizia fatta nel 2015 che accompagna la macchina, la vettura è stata riverniciata almeno una volta, mantenendo la sua originaria tonalità di argento.

Le 911 della “Serie G” hanno dimostrato nel tempo di essere alcuni tra i modelli più robusti e affidabili costruiti nei 50 anni di storia del modello, dove la Speedster rimane una delle varianti più ambite. Questa rara Speedster con carrozzeria stretta si presenta benissimo in tutto e può essere la perfetta Porsche “modern classic” da guidare e godere questa estate.
