With its ageing Seicento model nearing the end of its lifecycle, Fiat briefly positioned the relaunched Panda as its leading compact hatchback. The marque wanted to reclaim its “small car crown” with a three-door car, however, so looked to one of its most recognisable models for inspiration—the Fiat 500. In 2004, at the 74th Geneva International Motor Show, the company unveiled the Fiat Trepiùno concept, bearing a striking resemblance to the new Fiat 500 which entered production in 2007; around the same time the Abarth brand came back to prominence.
The following year, the Abarth 500 was launched and became the performance version of the Fiat’s characterful city hatchback. That same year, Abarth introduced the track-focused 500 Assetto Corse, and a racing series was created in Europe for clients to compete against one another. Coined the Trofeo Abarth, it toured the most famous European race circuits.
In 2014, Abarth offered an upgraded version to customers, the Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione, claiming that it would be eligible to compete in the 2014 Trofeo Abarth alongside Abarth 500 models. Having competed in previous editions of the Trofeo Abarth, the consigning owner placed his order for a new Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione for the 2016 season. The owner ended up racing in the Ferrari Challenge series with another car, though, electing not to compete with the new Abarth, instead adding it The Sportiva Collection.
Sporting white paintwork and Adler Pelzer Group livery, this Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione is in running and driving condition, however it is recommended the car be prepared prior to racing. Upon inspection, various Abarth factory seals have been found across the vehicle and match the build sheets, which are available to view in the history file.
An exciting proposition, this barely used Abarth 695 Assetto Corse Evoluzione represents the heigh of performance in its class, and is ideal for those looking for something new to take to the race track.
