Matchless is one of the oldest marques of British motorcycles, manufactured in Plumstead, London, between 1899 and 1966. A wide range of models was produced under the Matchless name, ranging from small two-strokes to 750 cc four-stroke twins.
The G80 and its twin, the AJS Model 18, were called a gentleman’s machine. They were dependable, no nonsense workaday machines,Built to perform as intended and be reliable.
Production ended in 1966 for Matchless. This 1964 Example is origanally from Maine and has remained very close to original over the years including the factory air pump.One of the large 500cc "Thumper" models and a fine example of an unrestored mid sixties British motorcycle.
