The truck being offered, Mack NO 7-1/2 ton was originally produced with a wooden cargo body. A steel cargo body was added post-war for NATO service. This vehicle was originally part of the Budge Collection. It is an older restoration, but is in very good shape. It is painted in a semi-gloss olive green. All driver's instruments and controls are present and intact. The tires are in good condition. The engine starts up and runs well.
The Mack NO 7-1/2 ton 6x6 Truck (G532) was designed to tow the 155-mm Gun M1A1 “Long Tom” and 8-inch Howitzer M1. 2,050 were built during World War II with 1,097 of them exported under Lend-Lease.
Standard equipment on all Mack NO's is a Gar Wood 5 MB 40,000-pound capacity winch mounted on the front bumper. Mounted in the bed of the truck is a hoist. The hoist was used to lift gun trails of towed artillery pieces during coupling procedures.
