The vehicle offered, Praga PLDvK vz. 53/59, is a former Czechoslovakian Army vehicle. Nothing is known of its service record. While it has not been restored, it is in very good exterior and interior shape. The tires are in very good shape. The AA gun mount is in good condition and elevates/traverses. Numerous spare magazines for the AA gun are included. It appears to still be in its original Czechoslovakian Army colors.
Developed by Czechoslovakia n the late 1950s, the M53/59 Praga mounts twin 30-mm autocannons on the rear of a heavily modified Praga V3S six-wheel drive truck. The 30-mm autocannons are fed by large 50-round magazines. Spare magazines are stored in the bed of the truck and in the armored cab. The autocannons are aimed optically and do not have any foul weather or night time sighting systems. If needed, the gun can be dismounted from the truck and used on a ground mount. In testing against the Soviet produced ZSU-57-2 self-propelled anti-aircraft gun system, the Czechs found the M53/59 comparable and found no need to buy the Soviet weapons system.
An obsolete weapons system against modern jet aircraft, it was used effectively against ground targets in the Yugoslavian Civil Wars of the 1990s. It is reportedly still in service with Libya, Slovakia, the Croatia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Egypt. Other countries that had used it include Czechoslovakia, Cuba, Serbia and Slovenia.
