Factory Five Racing was founded in 1995. In the ensuing years they grew from a start-up business in a small garage to become the world’s largest manufacturer of component car kits. They employ a full-time staff of approximately 30 people and are located in Wareham, Massachusetts. They make their products in the heart of New England, where American manufacturing was born. To illustrate the popularity of their products; Factory Five uses a combined 62,000 square feet for manufacturing operations. Since the beginning, they hired engineers, professionals, craftsmen and people who are driven by doing what they love and this passion is carried into each build project.
This 2012 Factory Five Cobra runs with a new stroker 347-cid, 330-hp V-8 engine that began as a 302 base. The transmission is a new Tremec T5 manual and the rear end is posi-traction with new 3.55:1 gearing. Along with the rollbar, quick-fill fuel filler and period-style racing mirror; the Factory Five Cobra has Halibrand-style vintage wheels, deluxe three link rear suspension with Koni adjustable shocks, CD player, stainless steel side pipes, blue with white stripe paint presentation, an all-business black interior and more.
