Engine #SP75

Chassis # #54GN

The Rolls-Royce Phantom II was introduced in September 1929. It was now powered by a larger more powerful engine than any Rolls-Royce had been equipped with. The chassis was lowered and the distinctive radiator shell was now placed directly over the front axle. These new styling cues created a sleek appearance.

Hidden beneath the long shining bonnet of this Sedanca DeVille is a massive inline six-cylinder engine that is very well detailed. The engine has been fitted with a later model alternator. The beautiful two-tone paint is presented in yellow and black. The car has been fitted with dual fender-mounted spare tires, rear brake lamps, small fender-mounted lights, rear view facing mirrors, wipers and a tinted wind screen.

This right-hand drive, seven-passenger automobile has been fitted with a front pleated bench seat that is finished in an attractive brown with matching door panels and gray carpet. Also highlighting the driver’s compartment is wooden dashboard, trim and full instrumentation. The rear passenger compartment is separated with a divider window, and is in superb condition. The lush and pleated bench seat is matched exquisitely by door panels, two jump seats, beautiful ornate wood trim, interior lighting, rear window shade, ivory door escutcheons and window crank handles.

From the beginning Rolls-Royce would create a model for engineering, craftsmanship and styling. Their ability to build quality products was evident in the speed records that were set both in the air and on land in the 1930s. This glorious tradition is continued with the Phantom II.
