The Beck Speedster is built in the image of the famed Porsche Speedster and comes from Special Edition, Inc., which was formed in the early 1980s and has been influential in the evolution of the specialty automotive industry by providing high quality replications of these iconic favorites. Their engineering and design criteria are reported as factors in providing a superior product.
The cars feature hand-laid fiberglass bodies; this one is presented in Midnight Black with a Red full leather interior. Other factory specs show the cars have a three-inch drawn over mandrel (DOM) tubular chassis, retractable seatbelts, locking doors, A-frame manual top with matching side curtains, laminated and certified windscreen with defroster and a sealed engine compartment. This example is nicely presented and has a four-cylinder powerplant with a four-speed manual transmission and an all-business interior with a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The chrome steel wheels are in the style of the originals and have properly-sized blackwall tires that give the car an authentic appearance at a more economical price point.
