Despite its highly publicized introduction and the four hundred million dollars Ford invested in its development, the Edsel was not as successful as Ford executives had hoped. Production was cut short after only three model years and approximately 110,000 units produced. Of these, it is estimated that less than 6,000 Edsels survive today. Over the past five decades, the public opinion of the Edsel has changed dramatically, as many enthusiasts consider each and every surviving example a treasured classic.

This Edsel Citation has been highly modified and has the engine, transmission, front suspension, and rear end from a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. The previous collector owner commissioned the transformation so he would have a fun classic car that was worry free on cross-country road trips. The car is reported to run great with a smooth shifting transmission, and front and rear disc brakes. This is the ideal classic car for an enthusiast looking for an example that can be driven and enjoyed, without the hassle of most other classics.
