The recently-introduced Champion was Studebaker’s best seller in 1940, but priced slightly higher was the Commander Six, a significantly larger model. This car is a rare time warp example.

An original car that has been selectively refreshed, it has recent maroon paint and new seat upholstery. The headliner and door panels are original, the latter showing some stains. The steering wheel is exceptional. The driver’s windshield has some delamination, but the passenger’s pane displays an authentic “A” ration sticker from World War II. Equipment includes directional signals, a radio, “hot water Climatizer,” foglights and a radiator overflow tank. Modern seat belts have been added.

Studebakers of the era are not plentiful in the collector community. This car is a rare find.
