In 1947, Chevrolet pickups went under extensive redesign, including 30 advance-design features. In 1949 it was advertised as “the pickup that would leave lasting impressions.” This pickup is equipped with the same advanced design features including “the cab that breathes,” horizontal grille bars and an alligator-jaw hood for easier vehicle servicing.
This 1949 Chevrolet pickup is being offered with an inline six-cylinder engine, fueled by a downdraft carburetor and matched to a three-speed column-shift transmission. This trucks exterior is finished in red, and has recently had an extensive frame-off restoration. The radiator grille is painted red to match the exterior. The exterior is accented by chrome badging and is fitted with chrome bumpers, along with a chrome grille-guard attached to the front bumper. The engine bay is neatly displayed. The interior of the cab is painted red, and it is fitted with a black bench seat. The interior is also equipped with a heater and a cab-mounted vent door. The pickup bed is finished in oak wood, with dual tail and stop lamps. Four-wheel hydraulic brakes are hidden behind chrome “rally-style” wheels.
