• Desirable Series 1½ roadster
• Fresh frame-up restoration to high standards
• Subtle driver-friendly modifications
Built in January 1968, this Series 1-1/2 E-Type is equipped with both covered headlights and very desirable triple SU carburetors, for the ultimate in design and performance. It has gone through a full rotisserie restoration, which has resulted in a jewel-like automobile with many beautifully polished aluminum and stainless steel components, and is detailed to the nines. Finished in silver-blue, it is upholstered in genuine Connolly leather, which, combined with new glass and chrome, give it a striking appearance.
On top of its cosmetic brilliance, this car has been upgraded to the tune of an additional $20,000, spent on modernized components to improve its performance, creating ease of driving, and to eliminate some of the main deficiencies of original E-Types. These components include a modern Tremec five-speed transmission with a .65 overdrive, a lightened alloy flywheel with a high-output starter, an upgraded cooling system with a large alloy radiator and cooling fan pulling 3000 CFM, and a new high-output water pump, eliminating the overheating problems that plagued early E-Types.
The elegant straight six engine has been completely rebuilt, with the triple carburetors and two-inch polished stainless steel exhaust system giving it a boost in performance. The brakes have been upgraded with four-piston calipers, drilled rotors in the front, and new servo and master cylinders imported from England. Only the finest parts were used throughout the restoration of this car. Reportedly, over $100,000 was spent on the restoration of this car, which is, in its fit, finish, and build quality, one of the finest E-Types available for sale today.
