The owner conveys that he purchased this Seat 600D in Spain from an individual that had junk yards in the outskirts of Madrid, in a town called Paracuellos del Jarama. He had purchased it 8 years ago from the gentleman that restored it; the only thing that he changed is the seat covers. The original ones were made of plastic-like material, which for a Madrid summer, was very hot in a car that never had air conditioning.

The current seat covers are spectacular in red velvet-suede and give the car a great look. The owner states; “Judging from the looking extensively at the car, the original exterior color was in fact white as it is now and it was repainted by the owner before the one I purchased it from. The purchase was somewhat difficult as the owner had several other SEAT's which were not used very often and one of his daughters (not of driving age) loved the car and did not want her father to sell it. I guess the adventure of it coming to the U.S. was more enticing and helped me seal the deal.”

The car has been through the strict Spanish technical inspection since the mid-‘70s and holds these original documents. The car is reported as completely original besides the seat covers. The owner also reports that the “engine and transmission work very well and are also original to the car, plus it is quite fun to drive, along with having a feature that the first 600's had - suicide doors.”

The current owner had the car inspected by a mechanic in Spain before the purchase and the car passed technical inspection without a glitch. He also reports having the oil changed, plugs changed and carb cleaned and re-jetted before shipping it to the U.S. to leave it in tip top condition.
