The 4-4-2 was born out of the competition between Pontiac Division and Oldsmobile. It began as a hasty response to the Pontiac Tempest GTO, which had proven to be an unexpected success midway through the 1964 model year. For 1967, the 4-4-2's styling and base 400 cubic inch engine remained essentially the same, and disc brakes were newly optional for the front wheels. Production rallied somewhat from the previous year, rising to 24,833. With just under 60,000 miles clocked, this 4-4-2 retains a 350 horsepower V-8 and a four-speed transmission with Hurst shifter. It also has a factory tachometer, split bench seat, power steering, power disc brakes, AM/FM radio and Super Stock wheels with redline tires. Each area of the car is nicely detailed and presentable.
