As early as 1959, Pontiacs were used as official pace cars for the Daytona race after the speedway was built. Replicas of the pace cars have been offered by GM, but a few of the actual pace cars have slipped into public hands. This very rare Grand Prix is estimated to be one of less than 10 authentic cars for official use. It likely served at various NASCAR- sanctioned tracks for one or two years and today has 41,662 miles on the odometer. Fully equipped, it has an automatic transmission, heads-up display, heated seats and more. The Pace Car jewelry includes full strobe light package, documentation, certification, title copy and supporting paperwork. Other pace cars are out there, but few are as rare as this Grand Prix.
