“Make a Date with a Rocket 88” was a slogan used to promote Oldsmobile’s popular mid-range cars with a powerful engine in the 1950s. The rocket was eventually adopted as the Oldsmobile logo during the 1960s, though the 88 name continued to remain in the lineup until the late 1990s. This pillarless Holiday coupe is offered a a largely original and non-restored example that indeed features a 394 cubic inch Sky Rocket engine, with a four-barrel, rated at 330 horsepower. The Super 88 is a step above the Dynamic 88 and this example includes power steering and brakes, as well as blue vinyl and cloth upholstery. The paint, stainless and chrome all exhibit a high quality finish. Showing less than 53,000 miles, it offers a nice combination of preservation and nicely restored areas.
