Spectacular is an easy word to use in describing the 1955 Oldsmobile 98 Starfire. With a smooth symphony of two-tone colors and “Rocket” horsepower, this model represented Oldsmobile at its finest in 1955. This award-winning Turquoise and Polar White example has a matching two-tone interior and white soft-top. It was frame-off restored and completed in 2000. It still presents very nicely and is well-equipped with Autronic-Eye, correct leather and dimpled-leather interior, AM radio with power antenna, dual mirrors; power seat, windows and top were all standard fare on this model according to period publications. The car is powered by the respected Rocket 324-cid, 202-hp V-8 engine and Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Records show that only 9,149 Series 98 Starfire Convertibles were built in 1955 and later publications speculate that fewer than 100 may still exist. This superb car was a 2000 AACA Senior National First Prize winner and along with numerous additional awards, it also received a prestigious 2002 AACA Senior Grand National First Prize award.
