To begin production for the war, Ford halted its car and truck lines on February 10, 1942. Only a short run of 1942 cars and trucks were built for civilian use. Few changes were made to the cars and trucks that year, other than the bold "electric shaver" grille. War rationing required auto makers to black out their chrome trim, and a special four-door automobile model was produced with no chrome at all for military use. The pickup received very little new styling as well, with heavy vertical bars, and production lasted through March 3. In either case, it is not often one finds a 1942 Ford for sale in an original or modified condition.

The modified Ford pickup offered here has retained an original era inline six-cylinder engine, while other subtle modifications have been made in several areas resulting in a tasteful custom. The paint finish is a dark silver metallic, and the majority of the exterior is stock with all of the brightwork and chrome refinished. Modern turn signals are integrated into the body, along with quality wooden running boards. The interior carries the bulk of the custom touches for a better driving experience. Leather bucket seats, a tilt steering column with Grant GT wood steering wheel, modern gauges and a billet floor shifter together create a very comfortable ride. Simple and tasteful, this pickup offers a perfect mix of true pre-war styling and modern comfort.
