The Torino won Motor Trend’s “Car of The Year” award for 1970. In 1970, 56,819 GT coupes were sold, however there was only 3,393 convertibles. Of the 3,393 convertibles made, only 1,302 were equipped with this engine and transmission; 1,192 were built with hideaway headlamps, such as seen on this beautiful machine.

Powering this convertible is a 302-cid V-8 engine backed by a fully automatic column-shift transmission; power brakes and steering. The engine bay is cleanly displayed with an engine dress-up kit and an aftermarket ignition system. The car has a black power vinyl top and a black interior with foam cushioned bench seats, aftermarket radio and a Sunpro gauge pod. The exterior is painted in red with black stripes, hood scoop, racing mirrors, hideaway headlamps and Magnum 500 wheels with simulated knock-off spinners and wrapped with raised white-letter BFGoodrich tires.

The car is shown with nice paint, with minor paint chips on the rocker panels, and chrome in great condition on the bumpers and trim. Included with the car are the original build sheet and a Marti Report.
