  • An icon of automotive history and design

53 bhp, 1,493 cc horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine with a single-barrel carburetor, four-speed manual transmission, front suspension with transverse torsion bars and trailing arms, rear suspension with swing axles, trailing arms, and torsion bars, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 94.5 in.

Volkswagen’s Beetle was largely adored by the general public, and as such, only slight changes were made to the 1967 models. A larger 1,493-cubic cubic, flat-four engine that could put out 53 horsepower was introduced, as were dual-circuit brakes, backup lights, locking door buttons, and a 12-volt electrical system, which replaced the old 6-volt system. Seven colors were made available for the hardtop “sedan,” and all had the option of either a cloth or leatherette interior.

This charming 1968 Beetle was originally purchased on September 25, 1967, by Gene E. Keeton, of Springfield, Missouri, and it is believed to have travelled just over 19,000 miles over the course of its life, as evidenced by service tags present on the vehicle. The car is finished in a very subtle color combination of Savannah Beige and a Teak cloth interior, and it presents very well, with few flaws. Additionally, it is important to note that this Beetle is accompanied by a factory tool set and a correct owner’s manual.

This very attractive VW Bug travelled to Mr. Pack’s collection by way of Arkansas, and it will surely to put a smile on your face wherever it goes.
