Introduced in 1954 at New York, the Mercedes-Benz 190SL complemented the 300SL as a more affordable and equally stylish alternative, conceived by Mercedes’ U.S. importer Max Hoffman. Originally delivered to the USA in 1962, this example spent its life in California until 2004, when it was imported to Europe in good original condition and totally restored in Holland between 2004 and 2005. It was completely disassembled and rebuilt with mostly new original parts, including the original engine, and following completion the car was driven sparingly. The current owner acquired the car and imported it to Greece in 2008, immediately commissioning a full engine overhaul at a cost of €23,000. Invoices are available on file for review. Since then, the car has only been driven about 400 km.

Now offered for sale, only due to the owner’s desire to reduce the size of his 50-plus car collection, this 190SL is presented in excellent, virtual concours-quality condition.
