190 bhp, 272 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, three-speed manual transmission, coil-spring independent front suspension, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf-spring suspension, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 116 in.

This handsome Courier is another beautifully restored commercial Ford from the Day Collection. It was formerly owned by yet another respected enthusiast, Don Davis, and it has been the recipient of what one RM specialist describes as a “beautiful ground-up restoration.” It features remarkably straight bodywork, beautiful yard-deep Flame Red and Colonial White paint, excellent chrome and stainless trim, and brand-new red and white vinyl upholstery. Driving is easy thanks to power steering and power brakes, and it is comfortable thanks to the very rare option of “Select Aire” factory air conditioning, an AM radio, and power windows.

The car’s engine bay and undercarriage have both been detailed to the nines, and the body is set off by accessory front fender stone guards, stainless rocker panel moldings, and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels that are shod in B.F. Goodrich wide whitewall bias-ply tires. The car’s mileage since restoration is recorded at 19, which explains how the Courier has remained in such excellent, high-point condition.

The 1957 models are among the most popular of Fords, and for the enthusiast who has seen all of the convertibles and hardtops that the world has to offer, this beautifully restored commercial vehicle is a tempting option for “something different.”
