40 bhp, 200.4 cu. in. inline L-head four-cylinder engine, three-speed manual transmission, solid front axle and live rear axle with transverse semi-elliptic leaf springs, and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 103.5 in.

Ford’s commercial vehicles did not immediately adopt the redesigned bodywork of the passenger cars that were introduced at the beginning of the 1930 model year. Instead, the older, upright “phone booth” cabs continued in production until June, when the new sheet metal made its way to pickups, panels, and the AA 1½-ton trucks.

The Model A Closed Cab Pickup offered here was restored some years ago in Chicle Drab and black, and orange pinstripes and black running boards were added. The body is liveried as “Flat Acre Farms” of Franklin, New Jersey, which is a charming period-correct touch. The interior is upholstered in hard-wearing vinyl, appropriate for a work truck, and it is in good condition, as are the black rubber floor mats. Its wire wheels are painted and shod in wide whitewall tires. Under the hood, the engine and drivetrain appear largely original.

For the enthusiast seeking a Model A truck that can be driven and enjoyed in parades and local show activities, this is a wonderful selection.
