It has been said that, in aesthetic terms, Cadillac was to 1941 what Cord was to 1936, what Duesenberg was to 1929 and what LaSalle was to 1927. Visually, the new-for-1941 Cadillac model range was simply a masterpiece of subtle, flowing curves, beginning with its bold and distinctive frontal treatment, featuring a massive horizontal-bar grille, and the debut of fender-mounted headlamps. The front-opening “alligator” hood was new as well, as was the fuel-tank inlet hidden beneath the left-rear taillight.

Mechanically, the 1941 Cadillac line was an even more remarkable achievement with its refined ride and carefully developed handling characteristics. Power was supplied by the 346-cubic inch flathead V-8. For a premium of $125, Cadillac buyers could also specify the new Hydra-Matic fully automatic transmission for the first time in 1941.

The Fisher-bodied Series 62 Coupe offered here is very attractively presented and described by the current owner as a top driver-quality car with a matching-numbers chassis and engine, plus an impressively original interior, which was protected with plastic seat covers from new. It is also equipped with a clock and a radio. Selectively restored as needed, the Cadillac was refinished in its original "Gunmetal Gray" some time ago, and the owner reports that the engine runs cool and smoothly. Recent work performed to the car includes brake work, a fuel-system service including cleaning and resealing of the fuel tank, a completely new exhaust system, new trunk upholstery and completely new weather-stripping. This nicely presented CCCA Full Classic is not only attractively designed and presented but also very capably powered with a 346-cubic inch V-8.
