Ferrari's brand-new Testarossa, the star of the 1984 Paris Motor Show, shocked the world at its premiere. It was a dramatic departure from the 512 BBi that preceded it, as its styling was angular and aggressive, yet its design was just as functional as it was attractive. The new Testarossa not only offered a step forward in terms of styling, but Ferrari's new supercar also improved on all aspects of the outgoing Berlinetta Boxer models. The engine produced 40 more hp than that of the 512 BBi, helping the Testarossa accelerate from 0-60 mph in under 5.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 180 mph. Its dramatic side strakes that ran along the side of the car helped to channel air into the dual rear-mounted radiators, which kept both the engine and cabin from overheating.

This Testarossa was bought new by Mike Kilbourn of Kalamazoo, Michigan, from Classic Italia of Richardson, Texas, on 29 May 1987. Its current owner, a friend of Mr. Kilbourn, arranged to buy it almost immediately thereafter, and thus has been with its current owner for literally all but a month of the car's life.

The owner notes that, as is typical of Ferraris in this era, the original paint was incredibly thin and wore quickly, and so he had it repainted its original Rosso Corsa early in its life; that excellent paint job is still worn today, while the tan interior is still virtually pristine down to the carpets. Now with just under 34,400 actual miles at the time of cataloguing, the car is offered with its factory five-piece luggage set, as well as owner's manual, service booklet, and service directory; the nearly complete original tool set; and the wheel tool, tow hook, and jack.

Best described as a "practically one-owner" Testarossa, this car is offered from single ownership since 1987 and is among the best-preserved examples of this iconic sports car to be offered in some years.
