270 bhp, 3,185.7 cc DOHC all-alloy transverse V-8, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, five-speed manual transaxle, independent front suspension with unequal length A-arms, coil springs, stabilizer bar, and telescopic dampers, independent rear suspension with unequal length A-arms, coil springs, stabilizer bar, and telescopic dampers, and 10.8-inch front and 9.8-inch rear ventilated disc brakes. Everything people liked about the Ferrari 308 was refined and distilled for the 328: more engine, now an amazingly flexible 3.2 liters with a 160 mph top speed and 5.5-second sprint to 60, and refined, modern styling that created an elegant new Ferrari for the eighties. The successful initial 328 GTB model was followed by the introduction of the even more popular 328 GTS, a targa-roof roadster with minor changes that further accentuated the 328’s charm.

A 328’s performance, however, eclipses its looks. A driver in Ferrari’s traditional, beautifully trimmed cabin enjoys the light and precise steering for which mid-engine cars are famous; while the world’s best suspension tuning creates an amazingly comfortable ride for a short-wheelbase chassis, power windows and air conditioning make it suitable for use in all situations.

This car’s looks have been preserved inside and out by years of careful maintenance, confirmed by comprehensive receipts and records. Any issues were always addressed promptly. Interior wear is commensurate with the mileage and the overall condition of the car. Panel fit indicates that the car has never been apart, nor is there any evidence of damage repair.

In 1985, Motor said that the 328 “is as close to a work of art as any modern car could be,” but it wasn’t the styling that won them over—it was the fact that, despite the Testarossa and the 288 GTO then in production, the 328 was one of the best drivers’ cars Ferrari ever made.
