Ford’s 1937 trucks were mildly redesigned with new front sheet metal, a divided windshield, and a revised instrument panel. Underneath was a new X-member frame, of the type used on passenger cars, and cable-operated brakes.
Restored to its original configuration, this Ford panel truck has only a single driver’s seat. The utilitarian cargo compartment has a flat floor and only barebones tie-down rails on its side walls. Modest deviations from original include exhaust headers, dual Brockman Mellowtone steel-pack mufflers and tailpipes, and chrome flipper hubcaps. The original 85 brake horsepower flathead V-8 has been rebuilt and runs smoothly. It has new wide whitewall tires and the correct side-mount spare. Chrome and glass are all show quality, attested by Best in Class honors from the Early Ford V-8 Club. Ideal for the vintage truck enthusiast or businessman, it is a seldom seen example of the once-common light-duty panel truck.
