Ford resumed civilian production in July of 1945, with an early start to the 1946 model year filling the public thirst for new cars. The 1946 Ford was identical to the 1942 model under the skin, though a heavy new grille with horizontal bars and red accents provided modernization. One notable change was an enlargement of the V-8 engine, now at 239 CID and capable of producing 100 horsepower for the first time. Having received a full restoration some time ago, this Super DeLuxe admirably shows Ford’s attractive post-war updates. The maroon paint is of a good quality and is echoed in the interior with maroon leather and cord upholstery. Features include a factory radio with speaker, an under dash heater, a clock, and a power top. The engine bay was also properly restored using correct components. This convertible is most desirable and will be perfect for the local shows and top-down enjoyment.
