Porsche introduced the 356 A for the 1956 model year. The car featured minor changes to the original 356 design, the most notable of which was the single-piece, curved panoramic windscreen. The car's simple, lightweight design and excellent handling characteristics made it a favorite among motoring enthusiasts. The 356 A was produced through 1959, at which point it was succeeded by the 356 B.

This stunning 1959 Porsche 356 A coupe was ordered through Islinger of Mannheim, Germany, and subsequently delivered to Bradford J. Harris of Burbank, California. The car changed hands sometime in the 1970s, when it was purchased by a machinist in Paramount, California, who drove the car for a number of years. In the early 1990s Charles Eddy, of Rancho Palos Verdes, California, purchased the car and began the restoration, taking the 356 down to bare metal, completing the body work and a high-quality repaint. In 1998 the car was purchased by Bill Perrone, marque expert and owner of The Parts Shop in Huntington Beach, California. Mr. Perrone completed the mechanical restoration of the car as well as the interior. With attention paid to factory correctness, the restoration was completed utilizing only original, OEM parts. Upon completion, Mr. Perrone enjoyed the car for a number of years prior to selling it to the current owner in 2014. Under current ownership, the car has been fastidiously maintained and driven regularly.

The car is powered by a period replacement 1600-cc Super engine which was rebuilt by Ansite Inc. It provides ample power for the nimble 356 and is a popular upgrade many Porsche enthusiasts perform. The transaxle also benefitted from being rebuilt during the restoration, ensuring smooth shifts through all four gears. The show-quality exterior features original trim, deco strips, grilles, lights, and lenses. The car rides on Vredestein tires mounted on painted steel wheels with Porsche "Super" hub caps. The interior features a clock, radio, front seatbelts, pop-out rear windows, and a fold-down rear seatback. The car is accompanied by a copy of its Kardex, its owner's manual, tool roll, jack, and Vredestein spare.

The attention to detail on this 356 is truly impressive, inside and out. From the undercarriage to the engine compartment, this car has been meticulously restored. With all the hard work completed, this 356 is ready to be shown and enjoyed on the open road.
