RM Sotheby’s Essen Top Ten Sales

Essen welcomes RM Sotheby’s to the incredible Techno Classica fair with spirited bidding and strong attendance.

RM Sotheby’s first collector car auction held during the renowned Techno Classica Essen fair was a resounding success, with 86 percent of all lots on offer sold and total sales of €18.7 million. During the two-day sale, 229 lots crossed the auction block before a packed room of bidders from 46 countries, 40 percent of which were first time clientele. The remainder of the famed Youngtimer collection brought in strong sales- many of which eclipsing their high estimate. A trio of Lancia rally homologation legends sparked spirited bidding contests, the 1985 Lancia Delta S4 Stradale nearly doubling its high estimate. A beautifully restored 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Cabriolet A brought the top result, reaching and selling within its pre-sale estimate.
