This exquisite, mint condition Slot Mods custom built three-lane slot car raceway was designed in the spirit of early sports car racing on twisty back roads and through scenic hills. The track measures 15.5- x 6.5-feet and includes one “squeeze area” for realistic racing action. It comes complete with six slot cars, controllers and a transformer. It was ordered in 2010 and took approximately one year to build, being delivered to the owner in 2011. The attention to detail is amazing and it really is a lot fun to play with. You can easily find yourself and friends happily distracted for hours as you get into the spirit of youth and rediscover the simple joys of electronic slot car racing. If you aren’t careful, the cars will actually wreck if you carry too much speed into a corner. The speed; however, is adjustable so that if younger children are playing with the track, the cars will not come off the track.

Slot Mods does not build tracks for individual use any longer. If it were possible, you would pay multiple times what the price of this track is today to have a new track built. If you have dreamed of owning a handcrafted racetrack of this caliber, this is your chance. Slot Mods would consider modifying it per your specifications for additional cost. It would make an ideal addition to any collection or museum or a gift for the ultimate car guy. It also separates into two pieces for easy disassembly/assembly when moving.

The Racer magazine website currently has an article posted about the custom Slot Mods track that Bobby Rahal had made for his garage at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois; which is housed along with his collection of racing memorabilia and racecars. Bobby is a racing legend that won the 1986 Indianapolis 500, three Indy Car National Championships, is a current team owner at Rahal/Letterman Racing, Indy 500-winning team owner, former principal of the now-defunct Jaguar Formula One team and is still competitive as ever. For him, the Slot Mods racing is a way to re-connect with his youth and first racing experiences. Mr. Rahal shares that "It's definitely a conversation piece, and it's amazing to discover how many people are into slot cars. It's definitely a way to bring back my youth, but it's also fun to develop a different skill around racing and, as always, to be really competitive."

Many of these custom-built tracks are larger in size and scope of detail than the one being offered. Neiman Marcus has offered a Slot Mods track that cost $300,000 in the famous Christmas catalog. For a fraction of the cost, this well designed racetrack is a great way to entertain friends, plus create enthusiasm for your children and their friends as you guide them to share in your motoring passions. If a Slot Mods track can bring this much excitement to a racer with Bobby Rahal's resume, just think how many hours of racing fun can be in your future with this great example.
