Circa 1905. Base impressed 'Gustave Gurschner, Depose, model 7235,' the iridescent bluish green and yellow mottled 'sea foam' domed glass shade unsigned, probably Loetz, resting upon a base with two ribbon-like vertical supports terminating in flattened floral forms which converge in the center. Appears to be in very good overall original condition and shows little to no wear on the lamp base. The glass appears excellent and is devoid of cracking or chipping along its edges. Bronze and glass in excellent overall condition. 12x24.5x12 inches.

&cf. Gustav Gurschner (1873-1970) was very well known for his outstanding bronze and glass lamps with this particular balloon lamp serving as an appropriate example in excellent condition.

cf. Alastair Duncan, Art Nouveau and Art Deco Lighting, Simon & Schuster, New York, 1978, p. 120, fig. 73 for illustration of a related example with glass dome attributed to Loetz.
