Specifications: 249 cc SOHC single, five speeds.
This ‘bare-bones,’ wide-case 250 was built for sprint racing and hill climbs approximately 10 years ago. Hill climbing was a very popular form of motorcycle racing in the rolling Tuscan Hills during the 1960s and 1970s. The Ducati singles were a popular choice amongst enthusiasts, as they were both competitive and regularly successful. The SOHC engine is fitted with a significantly larger Dell’Orto PHF32AS carburettor and twin spark plugs. To save weight, the seat and tailpiece are fibreglass, as is the fuel tank.
The bike is also fitted with rear-set foot-pegs, clip-on bars and a fly-screen with a Veglia tachometer. The wheels have Borrani rims, front forks are Marzocchi, and a competition exhaust is fitted. The bike appears to be in sound condition with paint and plating to race standards.
