Specifications: 249 cc SOHC single, five speeds.

Initially displayed at the 1967 Cologne show, the wide-case Ducati singles were launched in 1968 in 250-cc and 350-cc models and Scrambler and Mark 3 sport bike designations. The 250 remained in the same state of tune as in the preceding (and celebrated) Mach 1, with 10-to-one compression ratio and Dell’Orto SS1 29D carburettor, but the wide-case bikes were heavier and top speed was down to 89 mph. Nevertheless, the range would soon boast Taglioni’s celebrated Desmo engine. The bike on offer looks to be very correct in its original blue and gold paint with some fading evident. It has a set of attractive Borrani alloy rims, Marzocchi forks and Smiths gauges.
