A fixture on the Southern California bike scene since 1970 when he swept the floors and busted tires at legendary Sammy Pierce's American Indian Motorcycles, builder Micah McCloskey today is known for the fully sorted, no-excuses customs that roll from his Canoga Park shop. This three-owner low-mileage 2006 McCloskey chopper runs a polished 100-cubic-inch RevTech motor working through a RevTech six-speed transmission and a 200mm rear tire. Performance machine brakes at both ends bring the bike to a secure stop. Simplicity is the theme here, with the chromework and polished aluminum set off by a deep candy-red paint job on the frame and tinware--no need for overdone flames or acres of air-brushed skulls. Likewise the wheels, clean and classic spokes rather than the busy carved-from-billet hoops that have become the norm. The bike's one nod toward adornment, its stingray-skin seat, is still subtly understated.
