Yes, Virginia, Sears Roebuck and Company did indeed sell motorcycles. The motors were built by the F. W. Spacke Company, and similar bikes were sold under the De Luxe, Dayton and Eagle brand names. Imagine the excitement in a small farming town when one of these was delivered by rail to a lucky owner, who soon would be riding around on the first motorcycle in the county.
