The tank being offered, Landsverk IKV-73 is in original and unrestored condition. The exterior paint is in good condition. All tracks, roadwheels and other suspension components are in excellent condition. This tank runs and drives well off of both engines. The interior is in very nice condition and appears to be complete. All driver's controls operate normally. This vehicle drove around the MVTF property without problem in December 2013.

The IKV-73 is a composite of multiple vehicle types. The original Strv m/42 that the IKV-73 is based on were built in Sweden during World War II. Post-war, they were rebuilt into IKV-73 infantry tanks. Changes during the rebuild included the deletion of the hull machine gun, the addition of a box for spare tracks mounted on the hull front, the addition of a blackout light on the hull front, the addition of a second periscope for the driver's hatch and other small changes. Some of these vehicles were then converted to IKV-74's by the addition of a new turret and wider tracks. The IKV-73 turrets were then used as fixed defense positions at harbor installations and airfields. As there are no Strv m/42 tanks in existence, all surviving vehicles of this family are either IKV-73's, rebuilt IKV-73's using IKV-74 hulls, or actual IKV-74's.
