The famed Mercedes-Benz SL models allow the fortunate driver to experience the fine art of flying without ever having to take off. The SL driver is in an enviable position: the breathtaking feeling of sitting at the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz SL is nearly impossible to express in mere words. The underlying technology reconciles comfort and dynamism to perfection and allows you to sample wonderful roadholding and the outstanding quality that is Mercedes-Benz.

The 560SL was the final and most refined version of the R107 body style. It was made from 1986 to 1989 and was the most powerful and developed of the Mercedes-Benz R107 chassis, which began with the introduction of the 450SL in 1973. By 1986, the V-8 engine had been enlarged, guaranteeing a 0- to 60-mph time of 7.5 seconds, and a top speed of 130-mph.

The 560SL rides smoothly and quietly, sheltering the two occupants in amply proportioned leather bucket seats, and offers safe, predictable handling. 1989 was the final year for this body style and for 1990; the classic lines of the R107 had been replaced with an updated design philosophy.

This beautiful Black with tan interior example is truly representative of the way one of these cars left the showroom in period. It has less than 20,000 miles on the odometer, though the title is exempt, the owner conveys these are believed to be original to the car. The condition of the car certainly reinforces this thought, as does its totally original condition and possessing all service records from new, all factory new car delivery materials, original window sticker, buyer’s order and the fact that the spare tire has never been on the ground. Outstanding condition, great colors, factory hardtop, air conditioning, dealer-installed chromed alloy wheels, Becker Grand Prix AM/FM radio with cassette player; power windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes make for a true time capsule for the last year of the vaunted 560SL.

Simplicity, superb build quality and an enduring design are all symbols of the Mercedes 560SL. The 560SL was the zenith in the United States of what Mercedes-Benz offered in period for their well-established grand touring roadster; this car lets you experience the sensation anew.
