Renowned for his historical monuments and his highly detailed automotive bronze sculptures, artist Stanley Wanlass created this magnificent tribute to America's pioneering spirit in a limited edition of just 30 signed and numbered examples. Large and finely detailed, it depicts the legendary Thomas Flyer automobile and its crew, which won the grueling 13,000-mile New York to Paris in 1908.
Said to have been priced at $27,500 each in 1982, the entire edition sold out in 11 months, principally to museums and major private and institutional collections. With examples appearing very infrequently on the secondary market, this remarkable bronze sculpture, number 20 of 30, represents a rare opportunity to acquire a highly regarded masterpiece of automotive sculpture.
