Perhaps one of the last 330 GT 2+2s left in single ownership, chassis no. 08643 was delivered new to the consignor’s father on Long Island, New York, through Luigi Chinetti Motors in November of 1966. It has remained with the family ever since. A desirable second series example, it was finished in Argento (25090 A) over a Nero Franzi leather interior and fitted with power windows and a five-speed manual transmission.
Over the course of the next 50 years, the car was driven on the weekends and during the summer months, but was always regarded as a very special car by its first and only owner. As such, it was kept away from snow and salty roads during the winter and kept in pristine condition. The car was regularly serviced and maintained every year of its life, even after its owner became too elderly to drive and enjoy it on a regular basis.
Never having been restored and only serviced as necessary, the 330 GT remains highly original throughout and its character is instantly palpable. Importantly, it is accompanied by documentation from throughout its life, including its original Bill of Sale and virtually every service invoice from throughout its life. Almost every piece of documentation about the car accumulated over the years was kept, which even includes handwritten notes from the owner about the car.
In total, 455 Series II 330 GT 2+2s were built and today, finding an example offered from single ownership is undoubtedly something that is easier said than done. This example checks all the proverbial boxes thanks to the consistent care and preservation lavished on it by its current and only custodian. This is a car that every enthusiast should take note of.
