In the mid-1960s, BSA upgraded its successful A65 engine platform by raising the compression ratio to 10.5:1 and swapping out the traditional Amal carburetors for dual large-bore Amal GP carburetors fed by velocity stacks to create the high-performance BSA Spitfire. The Spitfire was BSA’s fastest production motorcycle and an instant favorite, boasting speeds of up to 120-plus mph. This example shows nicely, including its original numbers-matching engine, and is mostly complete but in need of some finishing touches. It is a nice example to display or an ideal candidate for restoration to show and ride.
