Buick’s 1922 models retained the attractive appearance of the previous year, with radiators and hoodlines of smooth, modern design, as well as the numerous changes that had accompanied the 1920 models, including improved electric headlamps with a dimmer switch, and a Willard storage battery. It was around this time that Buick adopted the famous advertising slogan, “When Better Automobiles Are Built, Buick Will Build Them,” a tagline that the division would use for many years. Indeed, these were beautifully constructed and engineered automobiles, with dashing lines and excellent pep from their overhead-valve four- and six-cylinder engines.

The top-of-the-line six-cylinder Model 22-45 offered here was the recipient of a restoration some years ago in the attractive combination of butterscotch coachwork and brown fenders that it still wears today. The interior is upholstered in vinyl under a khaki canvas top piped in brown, and both remain in very good, serviceable condition for local and regional touring. The varnished wooden steering wheel, which is satisfyingly heavy and solid in one’s hands, is in very good condition, as is the beautiful woodwork of the interior. Accessories include “wind wings,” a useful feature when touring, and a rear-mounted spare tire. The odometer shows 13 miles, which is the mileage since the car was restored.

A powerful entrant for Antique Automobile Club of America and Veteran Motor Car Club of America touring, this Buick needs only a caring new owner.
