Powered by its correct Hirth single-cylinder, two-stroke engine, this miniature “Studebaker” was built in Germany by the Ihle Brothers, who are also credited with developing the kidney-shaped BMW grille as well as the racing variant of the BMW Dixie. The Schottenring car, however, was intended for amusement parks and fairs, where it would be enjoyed by children.

This particular example has been treated to an exceptional restoration by a private collector who has owned and enjoyed several such examples. The chrome has been done to a superb standard, and the cream and blue paint scheme is exceptional. In the world of microcars, such amusement park cars are in a class all their own and tremendously collectable. This particular Studebaker is one of the very best.
