The Bismarck was the first of two Bismarck-class battleships built for Germany's navy in the late 1930s. Bismarck, and her sister ship Tirpitz, were the largest battleships ever built by Germany. After suffering damage in battle, Bismarck sank on May 27, 1941 in the North Atlantic.
