Addendum
Further to the catalogue description, this engine was acquired by Mr. Guyton from Vintage V12s of Tehachapi, California. This example contains only the internal parts necessary to attach the external accessories. The engine was cosmetically restored with correct finishes, including cad-plated fasteners and stainless safety wire, and is setup for display.

Large and impressive Merlin aircraft engine with display stand. Such engines were first used in 1936 in planes such as the Fairey Battle, Hawker Hurricane, and Supermarine Spitfire. The Merlin engine was later used to power motor cars and racing boats. In many ways, it is considered to be the engine that won the war.

The tool kit appears to be complete.
